This is my list of RPGs! I've chosen to only include games that I've 1) personally played and 2) remember well enough to categorise.
My plan is to add pages for each of the games and each of the category "tags" over time. The game pages will be a mix of a review of the game in question and the rational behind why I've chosen to categorise it the way I have. The "tag" pages will include a description of the genre or trope in question, as well as a list of games said "tag" applies to.
Once I finish fleshing out the aforementioned, I'll start adding new games to the list. I might start by revisiting ones I've played in the past but didn't remember well enough, but part of my motivation for this project is to document my experiences with older games as well, so I'll probably be diving into some of those, too.
It's also very possible I'll add more games to the list before I finish fleshing out what I have, if I happen to play something new I think belongs here. We'll see what happens!

Another motivation behind this project is my interest in how genre works -- or more often, fails to -- when it comes to video games. "RPG" is a term applied to so many wildly different games that it sometimes feels like a very nebulous category. By listing out which elements which games have or don't have in common, I'm hoping to learn something about this, at times, very vague genre.
Since I don't believe single mechanics or camera angles makes a given game what it is, I'm trying to staying away from genre terms that centre around that. I'm avoiding "CRPG" for a similar reason -- taken literally, surely all of these games are Computer RPGs? It's not a very indicative name for a genre when used to mean something narrower than that.
